Partnership with ADEME (French agency for environment and energy control)
The bank has raised its employees' awareness of global warming and is a member of the "Planète Gagnante" ("winning planet") club organized by ADEME. The bank is seeking to boost the campaign "Energy Savings. It’s time to act as things are really heating up" that aims to raise the general public awareness about the changes in the climate triggered by greenhouse gas emissions and to encourage energy consumption control.
One of the tools proposed by ADEME is the CLIMACT test, which is created to evaluate one’s own greenhouse gas emissions.
Environmentally-friendly efforts
Natixis also involved its employees in the "gestes verts" eco-behavior program, with the aim of reducing energy, paper and fuel consumption and encouraging selective waste sorting. These efforts have also been applied to the bank's logistics, with measures to reduce buildings' energy consumption and ensuring that new constructions comply with high environmental quality standards. As a result of these policies, energy and paper consumption, at comparable structure, has stabilized or declined.
Socially responsible procurement policy
The bank has included sustainable development criteria in its invitations to tender, thereby favoring more environmentally-friendly products and supporting official eco-labels (European eco-label scheme, the NF environnement mark etc).
Measuring the bank greenhouse emissions
The bank has implemented a reporting program to measure its own direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions (energy consumption, procurement, transportation, waste etc.).This will enable Natixis to identify the main sources of emissions and define its priorities in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

A transportation plan
To encourage the building’s future occupants to use public transportation, Natixis is co-financing a public bus lines that serves not only its own buildings but also other locations in town.
