Natixis helps bring online the audio archives

For the 40th anniversary of its creation, the Orchestre de Paris has launched a new version of its Internet site with an enhanced multimedia offering for music lovers and the public in general. It also marked the launch of a huge project which consists in putting its archived concerts on-line. Implemented through Natixis's sponsorhip, the new site will enable all to (re)discover some of the most beautiful works in the Orchestra's repertory.

Since the early 1980's, the Orchestra has recorded all its concerts to be archived. The first selection, available via free online streaming, includes the following works:

· Symphonies n°4 and 9 by Schubert, conducted by Carlo Maria Giulini (November 1990) · Missa Solemnis byBeethoven, conducted by Sir Georg Solti (December 1993) · Divertimento for String Orchestraand Concerto for Ochestraby Bàrtok, conducted by Pierre Boulez (June 2001) · Concerto for Piano and Trumpet, Symphony n°10and Five interludes from Lady Macbethby Chostakovitch, conducted by Mstislav Rostropovitch, with Cédric Tiberghien (November 2006). One of the great conductor's last concerts.

During the first half of 2008, other concerts will be added to the site.

This project is in keeping with the "Yesterday's Heritage, Tomorrow's Treasures" sponsorship policy with its main objective of revealing our cultural heritage to the general public.
