Natixis initiatives

The Handicap Mission implements many initiatives to promote the hiring of disabled workers and help them remain in their jobs:

Provide personalized support for disabled employees, adapting the workplace, enhancing accessibility to the professional environment in all its forms (providing adapted transportation and software, use of sign language interpreters, etc.).

Designate a special correspondent at each division and establish a network of disability contact liaisons at each subsidiary. These liaisons help to define, implement, administer and monitor the overall action plan within their respective entities. They are the primary on-site contacts for disabled employees, their managers and co-workers.

Raise awareness among employees so that they can take into account and understand all types of disabilities, visible and hidden, as well as their consequences in the professional environment, and ways to implement work-around solutions.

Organization of “Changeons de regard” (“Changing the Perspective”) disability awareness days for all our employees.

Develop a network of outside partners

Natixis participates in school recruiting forums and works with university disabled-student offices. It has also developed partnerships with associations and labor market organizations and participated in conferences focused on disabilities to promote the hiring and continued employment of disabled workers.

Working with companies in the sheltered and adaptive services sector

Natixis is increasingly outsourcing tasks to the sheltered and adaptive services sector, in particular administrative tasks, groundskeeping, electronics waste collection and sorting, printing of brochures and other documents. The Purchasing department has a disabilities liaison dedicated to developing the use of the adaptive services and sheltered sector in order to ensure a consistent approach to subcontracting and the use of workers from this sector.

Facilitating access to the website

In 2008, Natixis adapted its web site to make it accessible to the visually impaired, thereby becoming the first bank to obtain Bronze-level certification from AccessiWeb. The site again received this distinction in 2010 for a two-year period.
