ABOUT NATIXIS
Natixis has developed an active solidarity patronage policy
Natixis has been involved in the fight against malaria since 2005 and supports many solidarity patronage initiatives. Its commitment is shared by its employees.
The fight against malaria: “Invest here, Act there”
![]() | Malaria is the most common form of parasite-borne tropical illness. While there are ways to fight it (mosquito nets, insecticide spraying, etc.), malaria still claims almost one million victims each year, mainly pregnant women and young children. |
The fight against malaria is a major concern for the United Nations, which has targeted its eradication by 2015.
Natixis is lending its support on three fronts:
- Actions in the field
Since 2005, Natixis has supported Plan France, a non-governmental organization and a founding member of the French Coalition Against Malaria.
Natixis finances prevention programs and the distribution of mosquito nets to those populations who are most vulnerable, as well as the training of community health workers.
Today, thanks to its activities, 80% of children younger than five and of pregnant women sleep under a mosquito net in the villages of Burkina Faso and Cameroon where the programs have been developed.
- Financing of research
Since 2005, Natixis has supported research programs at the Pasteur Institute. In 2010, it provided a grant for the project headed by Dr. Pujalon to study phenomena of resistance to anti-malaria treatments. - Awareness campaigns
Natixis regularly takes part in raising the awareness of the general public, particularly during World Malaria Day, on 25 April each year.
Committed employees
Natixis employees get involved throughout the year in solidarity projects.
In 2011, for the second consecutive year, they took part in the Course du cœur footrace to raise public awareness of organ donations.
All of Natixis’ employees cheered on the 14 runners who carried the company’s colors.
Natixis won second prize for company mobilization out of the 20 companies in competition, thanks to the 5,800 “cheering on” clicks on the dedicated website.
In 2010, Natixis employees also took part in:
- the Financial Industry race in Tokyo benefiting 10 Japanese humanitarian organizations
Fourteen Natixis employees took part in the 6th edition of the FIT for Charity Run at the National Kasumigaoka Stadium in Tokyo to raise funds for 10 local humanitarian organizations; - Odysséa: to benefit the fight against breast cancer
More than 200 Natixis employees and their families were involved in this solidarity initiative. Employees’ registration fees, which were matched by Natixis, helped raise 5,888 euros for the association; - Téléthon: to benefit the fight against neuro-muscular diseases
Natixis supported Téléthon by making collection stands available at the different sites. Many employees took part in the sporting events, including a footrace, a bike ride, a hike and a moped ride.
Employee donations were matched 100% by Natixis’ Senior Management, and this meant a €39,675 donation for Téléthon.
