Natixis engaged with the Paris Opera in creating its Academy
Committed to taking an active part in transmitting culture and to contributing to the emergence of tomorrow’s talents, Natixis is supporting the Paris Opera and becomes the ”Founding Sponsor of the Academy” and “Main Sponsor of the Musicians-in-Residence program”.
The Paris Opera Academy
Particularly committed to training talented young people and to building awareness among young audiences, the Paris Opera has created the Paris Opera Academy. Its ambition is to be a vector of transmission at the heart of the Opera. Its assignments are structured along two main lines: artistic education and professional training of young artists-in-residence.
The Academy offers young artists – musicians, directors, singers, vocal coaches and choreographers - a residence period during which they can interact with recognized professionals, learn by their side and benefit from their experience.
The Academy’s ambition is also to be a place of openness on the world, a space to share the Opera’s know-how and to experiment with art forms by looking into the ties between each of the stage, performance, urban arts and music in its plural form.
From shows performed by children as part of the Ten months of school and opera program through creations commissioned from established artists and bringing together young musicians, choreographers, singers and directors-in-residence, the Academy will mobilize all its resources to contribute to the renewal of audiences and art forms and to help emerge a new generation of artists.
As part of the “Musicians-in-Residence » program, young musicians recruited from conservatories after an international audition will complete their musical training with musicians from the Paris Opera Orchestra.
Under the musical authority of Philippe Jordan, the musicians-in-residence will play in the pit as supplementary musicians in about six productions every season. Each musician-in-residence will be tutored and trained by a full-time member of the Orchestra. They will also perform chamber music concerts at the Opéra Bastille Amphitheater and participate in the Masterclasses organized by the Academy for all the artists-in-residence.
They will receive training under a professional contract, which will enable them to understand new aspects of their profession: initiation to sound digital resources, initiation to orchestral conductorship, etc.
