COP21: Signing Ceremony of the Paris Agreement at the UN
The Paris Agreement, which is an outgrowth of the COP21 negotiations, is being officially signed today at the UN Headquarters in New York.
The Paris agreement provides among other things to contain global warming between 1.5 ° and 2 ° C compared to the preindustrial era. 160 countries announced that they would sign the text, confirming the global mobilization on the climate issue.
To enter into force in 2020, the Paris Agreement must then be ratified by at least 55 countries accounting for at least 55 percent of total emissions of global greenhouse gases.
In France, the bill will be put on the parliamentary agenda to be adopted by the summer. Natixis supports the global mobilization for the energy transition.
