Natixis has sponsored Orchestre de Paris since 2007. This year, Natixis is continuing in the same vein and will sponsor Orchestre de Paris’ trip to Japan. A prime opportunity for the Japanese public to discover the wealth of French music.
Helping the Japanese public discover French culture
Since first teaming up in 2007, Natixis and Orchestre de Paris have shared the same vision: to give as many people as possible – and not just music buffs – the chance to enjoy the vast array of great works in the French and international musical line-up.
Orchestre de Paris is the principal resident of La Philharmonie de Paris. The orchestra gives almost a third of its annual tally of 140 concerts on tour, travelling to a wide range of international venues. In November 2016, Orchestra de Paris will be touring Asia and will play chiefly to South Korean and Japanese audiences.
This year, Natixis is sponsoring the concert at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space on November 25. The orchestra will be conducted by the incoming principal conductor Daniel Harding and will play an outstanding program including the works of Felix Mendelssohn and Gustav Mahler. Around 2,000 spectators are expected to attend the event.
By sponsoring the concert, Natixis is reaffirming its faith in Orchestre de Paris and its virtues.
A look at a long-lasting collaboration
In 2007, Orchestre de Paris was seeking a financial partner to be able offer listeners a chance to hear musical masterpieces on its Internet site for free. When approached, Natixis was immediately interested in the project, which fit perfectly with its “Yesterday’s Heritage, Tomorrow’s Treasures” sponsorship initiative. The project makes available to the public archived works that are part of France’s national cultural heritage.
Every year since, Natixis has renewed its sponsorship for Orchestre de Paris. The Bank assists with a range of projects such as the recording, broadcasting and uploading on line of concerts, funding with Asian tours and financial support with concerts at La Philharmonie de Paris.
For the 2016-2017 season, Natixis is continuing its role as sponsor for Orchestre de Paris and will sponsor the Tokyo concert on November 25.
