Fostering communication between young people and leaders in G7 countries
Natixis is strongly committed to supporting the Youth7 (Y7) group – part of the broader G7 movement with a focus on youth, aimed at involving young people in world governance.
Youth7 encourages younger generations to talk to G7
Y7 is an official forum for younger generations to put their concerns to leaders of the G7 group of countries. This movement includes a summit for young leader delegates under 30, primarily from G7 countries, who put forward recommendations for Heads of State and Government to highlight the main concerns of their generation.
The 2019 Y7 summit will be organized by the Open Diplomacy Institute in Paris from June 9 to 14, with the aim of enabling younger generations to make their recommendations known to the G7 Heads of State and Government ahead of the G7 summit due to take place in Biarritz, France, from August 24 to 26.
2019 Youth7 summit focuses on reducing inequality
The priorities for the 2019 Y7 summit are as follows:
- Fighting against wealth inequality;
- Fighting against gender inequality;
- Fighting against inequality resulting from climate change;
- Fighting against inequality stemming from major technological change.
You can also make your voice heard!
The Y7 France delegates are also tasked with consulting civil society, so an online consultation on the four themes will take place in France until May 19, 2019.
Natixis partner for 2019 Youth7
Natixis is one of the partners for this 2019 Y7 initiative, as we believe that this is a unique opportunity for younger generations to be heard and have an impact on world governance.
Five of our young members of staff from Corporate & Investment Banking, Asset Management, ESR and Communications teams will be contributing to the work and analysis of the Y7 group.
Natixis' partnership with the Y7 movement reflects the company's aim to foster communication between civil society and G7 leaders to address the challenges of reducing inequality worldwide.
